April 2021 Update

Hello Renegades,

We're in the back half of April and I'm going to sneak in the month end update a little early. Nothing major to share this month, just our regular check in to see that progress is ongoing and things are still moving forward.

Our main reward is in Indexing, which means that most of the text is complete, or at least locked in enough that page numbers won't be shifting around. Everything looks on track to hit our projected delivery date, which is a huge victory after everything this past year has thrown at the team. Hopefully, now that the main book is all locked down, we'll continue to see movement on our Stretch Goals!

Hello Renegades!

It's the final day of March, and I'm gonna squeak in our regular month end update so that everyone knows the status of our projects.

JUMP IN TO APRIL

This April is Jumpstart month for Onyx Path media! They're running one of every Jumpstart they can for their games, introducing them to new players and putting them in the hands of GMs skilled at some games, but new to these ones! They would love it if you checked some of these out, to maybe get acquainted for the first time with some of these Onyx Path games! Check out the schedule and tune in!

For anyone new to Onyx Path's channel, you can find them running and playing games over on twitch.tv/theonyxpath pretty much every day of the week!

So far, the only Chronicles of Darkness representation is on April 4, with the Time is Come Round scenario for the Contagion Chronicle. Since the Contagion Chronicle is a crossover between all Chronicles of Darkness lines, though, maybe that counts as a Deviant: The Renegades game! I'll take what I can get. Check their schedule throughout April to see what other games get added!

M20: Victorian Age provides advice and material for running your Mage: The Ascension 20th Anniversary Edition chronicles amid the tumult of the Victorian era, as the Order of Reason rises to power and the Traditions falter.

Within this book you will also find a details of the state of the great magickal powers in this era: the Order of Reason, preparing for their metamorphosis into the Technocratic Union and riding upon the great beast of Empire; the Council of Nine, now merely eight, caught in infighting and looking for a new peer; and the Crafts, the manifold practices of magick across the world, who fight to save their peoples from conquest and exploitation.

In addition, Victorian Mage includes an examination of life as a magus in the stratified society of Imperial Britain and the wider empire; rules reflecting the difference in how magick works during this age, when the Consensus of the Technocracy has yet to enfold the globe; and a gazetteer of the Victorian world, touching on cultures and conflicts across the globe as empires struggle for dominance and the masses struggle simply to survive.

As with everything in the world of Mage: The Ascension, reality is shifting and you can't expect things to be as they always have been. BACKER PDF VERSION

This is the first version of Deviant: The Renegades to be released. We've sent you these initial Backer PDFs for three reasons:

1) Who wants to wait?! These projects can take a long time to turn into final releases - you know that - and the Onyx Path team wants to get them into your hands as quickly as possible!

2) To thank you for your support! This project, literally, is a direct result of your support during the Kickstarter campaign. You deserve to see it before anyone else!

3) To make the final version the best it can be! The design and development teams have done their best to proofread and correct any errors and typos - but some always sneak through. If you catch any typos, incorrect math, visual glitches, and the like, we want to hear about them and correct them before we send the book off to print.

With that in mind, I'd like to introduce the Deviant: The Renegades Feedback Form!

Generally, we try to keep errata collection open for the next 2 weeks, although it may be accessible a little bit longer due to the chaotic nature of the world we're in now. Still, please report what you can as soon as possible to make sure we're getting everything covered.

We won't be collecting errata from other spots, just this specific form. Please note this form will be for errata only - typos, incorrect math, page elements that overlap incorrectly, etc. It won't be for book discussion - you can do that in a different thread, or on the Kickstarter comments page.

Also, they already know about the Page XX notations - those are usually corrected after any changes are made and the books are being finalized.

After any needed corrections are made (based on your feedback!), we will prepare an updated final PDF version of the book and you will receive a notice from DrivethruRPG that you can re-download your file with the latest version.

You've already made the book a reality with your Kickstarter support. Now you can make it even better by helping us crowdsource any minor errors and corrections.
