2020 Year End Update

Hello Renegades,
It's not quite the end of the year (that can't come soon enough!), but I wanted to get this out early so we can maybe have a little bit of quiet time during these year end holidays.
Masks up! I can feel the PDF getting closer and closer...
This year has obviously been full of unexpected challenges and difficult times. Our campaign funded just over a year ago, and this year would normally have been mostly about watching the gradual progress on the projects we helped fund, as they slowly work their way to us. This year wasn't normal at all, though, but things have still moved along. I'm hoping 2021 is a much more manageable year, and looking forward to the results of the hard work of the Onyx Path team. I know that our Deviant: The Renegades backer PDFs are getting close, and I hope we're able to enjoy them in early 2021 and start the year off right!

ONYX PATH ON KICKSTARTER IN 2020
To say this year was challenging would be an understatement. Despite difficult, uncertainty, and demanding situations, the Onyx Path team continued to work on the great projects that have made us fans. It wasn't easy - schedules shifted, delays managed, and difficulties dealt with - but here we are at the end of 2020 and, despite the chaos, there are some victories to show!
Kickstarter continues to be an important part of the process for Onyx Path, and looking at the long list of projects in the works on the Monday Meeting Notes blog, it certainly looks like that’ll continue to be the case in 2021.
Rather than just take pre-order for an upcoming project, Kickstarter has allowed Onyx Path to gauge interest in game lines (to see if they should develop additional projects beyond those offered during the campaign), and sometimes even add additional projects to a game line immediately via Stretch Goal achievements. More importantly, it’s a chance to interact with the community and for everyone to get involved from the earliest stages.
Looking at 2020, Onyx Path had 7 Kickstarter campaigns funded, with one more currently on the go!
And, though the campaign still has a day to go, the recent DeadMan's Rust mega-adventure and setting supplement for ScarredLands 5th Edition has funded, which means it will get added to the list soon!

Hello Deviants,
I'm sneaking in a few month end updates today to try to keep ahead of schedule and not overwhelm everyone's e-mail inbox! This will be like most this year - status normal, everything moving along, nothing yet to see. I think we're going to finish out a quiet 2020 (at least in terms of this campaign!) in anticipation of great fun coming early 2021!

These ghosts, and more, haunt our world. They watch us, they torment us, they play with us, they find themselves locked in Sisyphean cycles, where the only respite comes through the haunting of the living.
It is our role to hunt these spirits down. Some believe we’re laying them to a deserved rest. Others hunt for the renown and to put down the homicidal dead. Others believe they’re doing God’s work, or with every hunt, their knowledge of the paranormal world increases.
We are ghost hunters, and regardless of our motives, it is our task to ensure the dead may no longer torture the living.

Playable options among the hunters that fight with bullets and blades, and those who fight with belief and supernatural power. Alongside them, those hunters who would track, cage, and study the dead.
A wide array of story hooks and rich storytelling advice for those who wish to run a game of Ghost Hunters set alongside any of the World of Darkness 20A games.

Hey there, Renegades!
We're into a new season, and hitting the end of the month, and that slight chill in the air tells me that we're due for a month end update!
Gonna keep it quick so you can slide into the weekend asap...
It's Friday, so I'm not going to take up a lot of your time, and I don't really have any big new news to share. As with all things 2020, the good news is no major disasters - everything's continuing to move forward. Progress may be slower than anticipated, but slow progress is better than set backs. As they say, sometimes no news is good news! I'll take it!

August 2020 Update

Hello Renegades!
It's the end of August, and that means it's time to check in on our Kickstarter projects. Near the end of each month, I will be sending out an update, with status notes on our main project as well as the Stretch Goal project we added. As noted in previous updates, these projects take a long time to put together. You've seen the manuscript preview PDF, but there are still many moving pieces and puzzles to solve in turning this into an awesome book. These month-end updates ensure that communication is constant and consistent, and that we're all on the same page with regards to where we stand.
Just a reminder that I'll send these out each month, for those who get anxious to know what's going on around the 26th...
The Clades Companion has moved forward, but otherwise no major changes this month, just ongoing progress within each stage of production. It takes many drops to fill a bucket, as they say, so the team is still drip-dripping away.

As a Hero, a Scion becomes a figure of myth and story, an exemplar of some virtue of their chosen society or the culture they’re born into. Even before their Visitation, the children of the Gods are a breed apart. But some want more than this lesser form of immortality, forever in the shadow of their parents. The golden ichor within the Scion’s heart sears and cooks them, ever burning away any human frailties of the Scion and driving them toward more audacious Deeds. They seek to become truly transformational figures, leaving The World forever different in their wake. At the fifth dot of Legend, it all reaches a tipping point, where the Scion is formed more of divine ichor than mortal flesh —more immortal than mortal, a true Demigod. They have declared to The World that they will not be pawns of Fate, but players in their own right. They will succeed in becoming a God, or they will die with their failure.
Everything up to this point was your prologue. Now it’s time to live your myth.
Scion: Demigod continues the path set down by Scion: Origin and Scion: Hero, expanding Scion Second Edition’s power level and charting the next level of power tiers for the Scions of the Gods. Players will take their characters through a tightly designed yet flexible story arc that ends in apotheosis or death – either way, the character will no longer be mortal after this book. Your characters don’t have to follow every Milestone with their Deeds — but they cannot run from their destiny once they’ve chosen to embrace it.
